Since the New York Giants season started in Hoboken with offseason lockout workouts, perhaps it would be fitting for it to end there with a championship parade after they win the Super Bowl.
At a town hall meeting yesterday in Bridgewater, Gov. Chris Christie fielded a question on where the Giants will hold their rally should they win the Super Bowl on Feb. 5 against the New England Patriots..
The governor predicted a win and said he would urge the team to hold their celebrations in New Jersey.
If the Giants win this matchup — and what true blue Giants fan doesn’t expect it? — what’s the best place in the Garden State to celebrate?
Nj.com commenter “catfishsharkeater” weighed in on where a possible Giants’ victory parade should march:
“Right down Washington Street in Hoboken. That’s where the parade should be for the G-men.”
With Eli Manning a Mile Square City resident and other Giants players living along the waterfront, the idea of Hoboken hosting the event doesn’t sound like that crazy of an idea. It could even soften the blow of the cancellation of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
